Placement Guide

Dear fellow embroiderers. The following chart is not a creation of ours. Like most of you we clip and save things that we think will help us. This chart is adapted from measurement guidelines that were provided a few years ago in STITCHES magazine. We have taken the most popular applications and placed them here for you to use. Please note that these measurements are intended as guidelines. Exact placement may vary according to garment.

Women's Wear
Women's Shirt/Blouses
COLLAR: On left side, 1/4" above button hole, centered between collar edges, 3/8" to 1/4".
CUFF: Fold the cuff in half across the width. Stitch design 1" from fold toward button hole and 1/4" from the cuff's top stitching.
LEFT CHEST: 4-6" from the shoulder seam and halfway between placket or center and sleeve.

Men's Wear
Men's Shirts
COLLAR: On left side, 1/4" above button hole, centered between collar edges, 3/8" to 1/4". The collar may need to be removed for stitching and then replaced. Inform your customer and adjust price accordingly.
CUFF: Fold the cuff in half across the width. Stitch design 1" from the fold toward the button-hole.
LEFT CHEST: On left side, 7-9" down from shoulder seam and halfway between the placket and sleeve seam.

Household Items

Hand Towel: 1 1/2" above border. Mongram size 3"
Bath Towel: 2" above border. Monogram size 4"
Bath Sheet: 3" above border. Monogram size 5"
Washcloth: 1" above border. If there is no border, monogram also can be placed in a corder. Monogram size 1 1/2".
Fingertip Towel: Monogram size 2"
